Our food-grade Glycerin is made from natural ingredients.
Glycerin of this quality is considered safe for human consumption as this substance is also produced by our body from various fats. It has a sweet taste but does not contain sugar. Glycerin acts as an emulsifier and allows for the combining of ingredients that do not mix well under normal conditions.
It is designed to retain moisture and soften baked goods. It can be used as a complete sugar replacement or added along with sugar for a slightly different sweetness and a softer flavour. It prolongs shelf life. Products made with glycerin stay moist longer, chocolate is less likely to develop a white bloom, and marshmallows and similar desserts are slower to form a sugary crust.
